Inion

The Inion OTPS Biodegradable Fixation System consists of fixation screws and plates made of biodegradable polylactic acid/trimethylenecarbonate copolymer.

It is intended for the maintenance of reduction and fixation of cancellous bone fractures, osteotomies or arthrodeses of the ankle and foot in the presence of the appropriate brace and / or immobilization.

The syndesmosis and malleoli screws are cannulated and can be passed through the plate if required.

The Inion OTPS Biodegradable Mesh Fixation System is designed for graft containment and to reinforce and stabilize bony fragments.

The Inion OTPS plates and mesh are quickly activated in the Inion Thermo+ water bath and become completely malleable, enabling them to conform to virtually any contour.

They stay malleable by hand for 10 seconds and by pliers for 15 minutes. If additional contouring is required the water bath treatment can be repeated.

The Inion OTPS systems will lose their strength over 18-36 weeks in vivo with complete strength loss and resorption within two to four years. The implants are sterile, non collagenous and non pyrogenic.

Stryker is a distributor of Inion OTPS products.
